Ford Fiesta
The new Ford Fiesta boasts a fun design theme that appeals to a young energetic market. At a base price of just over $13,000, the car is within the reach of most first time car shoppers. The Fiesta comes in a palate of hot colors such as lime squeeze metallic, blue flame metallic, and yellow blaze metallic that enhance it as an image car for young people. Outfitted with a 120 horsepower 112 pound feet of torque 1.6 liter Duratec four cylinder engine, the Ford Fiesta is not going to set any speed records at the track, but it is completely tossable and fun for the average driver. And with the available super fuel economy package the car will get exemplary mileage estimated by the EPA at 29 to 30 miles per gallon in the city and 38 to 40 miles per gallon on the open road.
The six speed automatic transmission is a twin clutch design making it more efficient and economical than the standard shifter. This is a very sophisticated design for an economy car and is usually encountered on performance sedans and sports cars. The suspension, though old fashioned with a twist beam rear axle and front struts works very well and keeps the Ford Fiesta well planted on the road even in extreme maneuvers. The steering feels very precise, although not quite up to BMW standards. And the littlest Ford comes with a raft of safety features including front and side curtain airbags as well as driver knee air bags for a total of seven airbags, more than any other compact automobile built today.
And the Fiesta is equipped with Ford’s Synch system developed by Microsoft to offer hands free bluetooth connectivity for your phone and voice activated commands for both phone and entertainment system functionality. And it includes turn by turn navigation. This provides great value in a compact package sure to put a smile on the face of any young driver lucky enough to spend time behind the wheel.
